DC TNG volume 2 #17: "Forbidden Fruit" is published.

1 July - UK VHS releases: TNG volumes 16 and 17.
2 July - Filming ends on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
TNG Season 5 begins production.
TNG: "Darmok" is filmed between 18 July 1991 and 26 July 1991 on Paramount Stages 8, 9, 16, and on location at Bronson Canyon.

5 August - Murray Golden dies.
8 August - An additional day of shooting for the episode "Darmok" was filmed on this Thursday. It included shots in front of a blue screen with stunt actor Rex Pierson and was filmed at Paramount Stage 9 on second unit with assistant director Arlene Fukai.
12 August - UK VHS releases: TNG volumes 18 and 19.
20 August - Irving A. Feinberg dies.
21 August - Jesse James Rutherford is born.

24 October - Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry passes away at the age of 70, shortly after the 25th anniversary of his creation. The TNG episode "Hero Worship" is in production at the time, and the two-part episode "Unification I" and "Unification II" is dedicated to Roddenberry's memory.
28 October - TNG: "The Game" airs.

4 November - Leonard Nimoy makes a crossover appearance as Spock on the TNG episode "Unification I", the first episode in a two-part event.
