The early Earth space ship Charybdis, piloted by Colonel Stephen G. Richey, is launched as the third attempt to explore beyond the Sol system. However, the ship looses contact with Earth and reaches the Theta 116 system in 2044 with Colonel Richey still alive. (TNG: "The Royale")
Enterprise (NX-01) emerges from a subspace corridor from the year 2154. So far back in time, the ship can do nothing but wait in the Delphic Expanse for a chance to find and destroy the first Xindi superweapon. The ship becomes a generation ship, trading for provisions and taking on alien crew to survive. (ENT: "E²")
