- Ambassador Spock learns of a star going supernova that poses a threat to the galaxy. He uses a ship equipped with red matter with the intent to collapse the supernova in a black hole. (Star Trek)
- The supernova reaches Romulus in the Romulan Star Empire, consuming and destroying the planet. (Star Trek)
