A.E. Hodgkin was a noted biologist, most famous for his creation of Hodgkin's Law of Parallel Planetary Development.
While visiting Loracus Prime for the first time with a science survey mission, he noticed a native species of termite that looked very similar to it's counterpart native to Earth. He then began to notice the similarities to many species of termite native to multiple class M worlds, including Vulcan.
He considered the possibility that they had been brought to the planets by some species that visited the planet prior, but upon studying their DNA, confirmed they were native to the world. After a decade of research and theorizing, he came up with his Law of Parallel Planetary Development. His explosive claim had many historians comparing him and his discovery to Charles Darwin.
