Abby Brammell (born 19 March 1979; age 45) is the actress who played Persis in the three-episode Augment Crisis story arc on Star Trek: Enterprise. She was born in Kentucky and raised in San Antonio, Texas.

A 2001 graduate from Carnegie Mellon University's Mellon School, Brammell made her television debut the following year in a February 2002 episode of the WB series Glory Days with Adam Scott. A week later, she was seen on the popular CBS series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She then had a recurring role on the short-lived drama series Push, Nevada (working with Steven Culp and Liz Vassey) and made an appearance in a David Carson-directed episode of Birds of Prey, a series which starred Dina Meyer and Ian Abercrombie.

Brammell starred in the North American premiere of Christopher Hampton's play, The Talking Cure, which ran at the at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles from 14 April through 23 May 2004. In the production, Brammell portrayed Sabina Spielrein, a suicidal patient of Dr. Sigmund Freud, played by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine guest actor Harris Yulin. Brammell was praised for her performance in the play. The Los Angeles Time hailed her portrayal as "stunning" and "wonderful," while Variety noted her "fiery presence and charisma." [1] [2]

In 2005, Brammell had recurring roles on the hit TV shows The Shield (with Pat Healy, Michael Jace, Jay Karnes, and Benito Martinez), The Unit (with guest stars Colm Meaney, Dennis Haysbert and John de Lancie), and Six Feet Under. During her time on the latter series, she worked alongside fellow Star Trek performers Lisa Banes, Ed Begley, Jr., Michael Bell, Joanna Cassidy, Rosalind Chao, James Cromwell, Christopher Neiman, Robert Pine, and Anne Ramsay. Brammell also guest-starred in an episode of NBC's Crossing Jordan, which starred Miguel Ferrer.

Brammell was recently seen as Tiffy Gerhardt on the ABC crime comedy series Castle (with recurring star Penny Johnson Gerald and guest star Michael Dorn). She also has a role in the 2011 family drama film Like Dandelion Dust. She lives in Pasadena, California, and is married to actor and singer-songwriter Jake La Botz. A devout Buddhist, Brammell helps lead a Buddhist temple in Pasadena.
