Alameda is an island city located in San Francisco Bay to the east of San Francisco, California, in the United States of America. In the mid-1980s it was the site of a US Navy Base, which housed the aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
After traveling back in time to 1986, Pavel Chekov and Uhura were assigned to locate the Naval base in Alameda in an effort to locate uranium. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
