The Alameda Naval Base was the United States naval shipyard in San Francisco. In 1986, Pavel A. Chekov and Uhura visited the USS Enterprise docked at the base. It was subsequently raided for antiprotons to recharge the dilithium crystals aboard the Klingon Bird-of-Prey that the forementioned crew arrived in. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
