Alpha Glover was an astronomical object.
In 2293, the location of Alpha Glover was labeled in the star chart for the "Operation: Retrieve" command briefing. The chart was from the Starfleet Command Intelligence Database. This star chart was seen in the office of the Federation President on Earth. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, set artwork)
This chart was seen in greater resolution at Flare.Solareclipse.net. Many of the names were clearly readable; however, some locations at the extreme right of the chart are illegible due to the angle the picture was snapped.
Many of these locations shared their names with the last names of crew who worked on the sixth film.
