An analgesic, also commonly known as a painkiller, pain medication, or pain reliever, was a drug used to numb or otherwise relieve pain without inducing a loss of consciousness. Analgesics were often used to treat headaches and to relieve pain induced by mild bruising to severe injury. (VOY: "Critical Care", "Tsunkatse", ENT: "Observer Effect")

In the mirror universe, a custom analgesic was synthesized to numb your nerve receptors to help counter the effects of agonizers. (DIS: "Vaulting Ambition")

In 2151, Doctor Phlox gave T'Pol an analgesic for her tension headache, saying he'd give her something to help her sleep later, if she wished. (ENT: "Breaking the Ice")

In 2152, Travis Mayweather rejected extreme medical intervention to determine the cause of his headache, at which point Phlox offered him an analgesic. Mayweather replied that it was what he'd come for. (ENT: "Singularity")

In 2154, Phlox felt that an analgesic would alleviate Jonathan Archer's irritation caused by a neurotoxin secreted by Xindi-Insectoids. (ENT: "Hatchery")

Later that year, Malcolm Reed requested a preventive measure to deal with his headache, as he had a lot of work to do and believed it would worsen as the day went on. Phlox then replied, "Mild analgesic it is." (ENT: "Observer Effect")

Doctor Beverly Crusher gave Jean-Luc Picard a painkiller in 2364 when he was experiencing an unknown form of pain when DaiMon Bok returned his previous command starship, the USS Stargazer. (TNG: "The Battle")

In 2365, Katherine Pulaski offered Deanna Troi something for the pain she presumed childbirth was causing, but Troi was experiencing no pain. (TNG: "The Child")

In 2372, Doctor Julian Bashir offered Meso'Clan pain medication after the Jem'Hadar's knee joint had been destroyed by a plasma charge. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath")

The same year, Crewman Foster visited USS Voyager's sickbay for an analgesic. Kes informed The Doctor about her visit and Ensign Samantha Wildman's after he questioned whether anyone except her and Danara Pel visited sickbay in the past 24 hours. (VOY: "Lifesigns")

Later that year, Bashir gave Norva a painkiller. However, it had no effect as she was experiencing the final stages of the Teplan blight. (DS9: "The Quickening")

When ordered to create a diversion to slow down a Borg invasion of the USS Enterprise-E in 2373, the EMH in the Enterprise's sickbay offered the intruding Borg drones an analgesic skin cream to combat skin irritation caused by their implants. (Star Trek: First Contact)

The Doctor begrudgingly gave B'Elanna Torres an analgesic, hydrocortilene, when she complained of a bad headache in 2373. (VOY: "The Swarm")

The Doctor questioned what progress Kes had made with certain analgesic compounds. (VOY: "Before and After")

After Jadzia Dax was injured by a Jem'Hadar weapon on Soukara in 2374, Worf gave her painkillers, although the anticoagulant from the Dominion weapon meant she needed to take more. (DS9: "Change of Heart")

In 2375, Tom Paris administered pain medication to Samantha Wildman for injuries she had sustained in the crash of the Delta Flyer. (VOY: "Once Upon a Time")

In 2376, The Doctor told a Hirogen tsunkatse player that if he needed anything, such as an analgesic or a phaser rifle, to ask him. (VOY: "Tsunkatse")

In 2377, an earlier version of The Doctor, left behind when the EMH was stolen to be sold to a Dinaali hospital ship, told Tom Paris to take an analgesic and come back in 24 hours. (VOY: "Critical Care")

Later that year, The Doctor told Iko he'd prepare an analgesic to alleviate his pain. (VOY: "Repentance")

In 2378, The Doctor, upon hearing from Chakotay that Kathryn Janeway had gone to her quarters with a headache, said he'd bring her an analgesic. (VOY: "Renaissance Man")

In 2381, Brad Boimler asked Honus for a cocktail with some pain reliever mixed in, as he was still recovering from a beating he received from Beckett Mariner in anbo-jyutsu. (LD: "Mugato, Gumato")
