Ash Tyler's active and latent DNA scans

A medical scan compares the anatomy of a Human male to a Klingon male

Anatomy was the study of the structure and functions of the components of biological lifeforms. It could also refer to the sum total of organs and parts of one's body.

During the 23rd century, most physicians had little or no familiarity with Klingon anatomy. By the 24th, even the most cautious steps in preserving the Prime Directive yielded to the inability to conceal extraterrestrial anatomy. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; TNG: "First Contact")

In 2267, general anatomy was among the subjects Leonard McCoy reasoned Nomad would require on tape in order to revive Montgomery Scott. (TOS: "The Changeling")

In 2269, James T. Kirk observed that the cosmic cloud appeared to have anatomy. (TAS: "One of Our Planets Is Missing")

In 2371, Kes expressed her desire to The Doctor to learn more about anatomy and physiology. Later, she wished she could see an autopsy. (VOY: "Eye of the Needle")
