Andrew Hill Newman (born 23 October 1959; age 64) is the actor who played Jaret Otel in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Prime Factors". In addition to this and multiple other TV guest appearances, Newman has appeared in several films, performed on- and off-Broadway, and has written and produced a number of projects. He and Joshua Malina are the executive producers of Celebrity Poker Showdown. In addition, Newman has written material for Saturday Night Live and has also written and produced for Nickelodeon's The Amanda Show and All That.

As an actor, Newman made his Broadway debut in the 1983 production of Merlin, playing part of the ensemble. Christian Slater also starred in the play, and Newman himself was an understudy for the title role. Newman later participated in the Broadway production of Big River, starring Rene Auberjonois and Bob Gunton, in 1985.

In 1987, Newman made his feature film debut in the comedy Mannequin, starring Kim Cattrall. His next film credit came in 1990, when he appeared in a small role in Maniac Cop 2, featuring Clarence Williams III and Charles Napier. That same year, Newman had a role in the comedy Funny About Love, directed by Leonard Nimoy and co-starring Michael Bofshever and Celeste Yarnall. Newman then had a supporting role in the 1991 sequel to Mannequin, entitled Mannequin: On the Move. Subsequent film roles include a jaywalker in Lethal Weapon 3 (also featuring Kenneth Tigar and Vince Howard) and a supporting role in 2007's The Grand (co-starring Jason Alexander, Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr., and Michael McKean).

Besides Voyager, Newman has guest-starred on L.A. Law (starring Corbin Bernsen, Larry Drake, and Diana Muldaur), two episodes of Night Court (starring John Larroquette, with one episode featuring Bibi Besch and another featuring Tony Jay), Doogie Howser, M.D. (starring James B. Sikking and Lawrence Pressman), Murder One (co-starring Daniel Benzali, Barbara Bosson, John Fleck, Gregory Itzin, Marnie McPhail, Leland Orser, Jack Shearer, Kevin Tighe, and Vanessa Williams), and NYPD Blue (starring Gordon Clapp and Sharon Lawrence, in an episode with Julianne Christie, Michael Buchman Silver, and Titus Welliver). He also had a role in Joe Dante's 1997 TV movie The Second Civil War, co-starring fellow Star Trek veterans Joanna Cassidy, Brian Keith, Dick Miller, Ron Perlman, Robert Picardo, and William Schallert.
