Angosia III was the inhabited third planet of its star system. The planet had several moons, including Lunar V. Angosia III was the homeworld of the Angosians, a warp-capable humanoid species.

In 2366, the Angosian government petitioned for membership in the Federation, and the USS Enterprise-D was dispatched to conduct a follow-up visit. During this visit, it was learned that the Angosian government unduly held Tarsian War veterans as prisoners on Lunar V and the petition for Federation membership was postponed. (TNG: "The Hunted")

In 2371, the location of Angosia III in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in the star chart Data and Picard studied in stellar cartography aboard the Enterprise-D. (Star Trek Generations, okudagram)
