Antica was one of two inhabited planets in the Beta Renner planetary system, and was inhabited by the Anticans. This planet was in the same sector as Parliament. Since achieving spaceflight, Antica had been at war with the neighboring planet Selay. In the early 2360s, Starfleet had detected Ferengi contacts on this planet. In 2364, Antica and Selay both applied for Federation membership. (TNG: "Lonely Among Us")
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I", "United Federation of Planets II"), in 2378, Antica was located in or near Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant. Antica was a Federation member.
