Doctor April Wade was a popular physician born in 2265.

By 2371, she worked at the University of Nairobi. She was nominated for the prestigious Carrington Award in 2368 and 2371, but lost both times. It was said that her first nomination at the age of 103 came prematurely. She and Ghee P'Trell, an Andorian chirurgeon were the odds-on favorites to win.

When Julian Bashir was unable to determine Grand Nagus Zek's illness, Quark suggested maybe he ought to see Wade instead.

Odo had heard through a female friend at Starfleet Intelligence that Dr. Wade was not going to win, this friend having connections to the Federation Medical Council. The rumor was later proven true when Dr. Henri Roget won. (DS9: "Prophet Motive")

This character was only mentioned in dialogue.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia gives 2264 as the year of Wade's birth.
