AT: "xx" The Ares V was an American unmanned expendable rocket that was in service with NASA in the early 21st century. This rocket, built for NASA, was used for launching cargo in the Constellation program.
In 2259, a replica of this rocket was on display in the office of Admiral Alexander Marcus. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
The Ares V, and the Constellation Program, were cancelled by the passage of the 2010 NASA authorization bill.
The Artisan prop and model shop of Quantum Mechanix, QMx FX Cinema Arts, was asked to illustrate the history of space flight with models for the film. They constructed fourteen models in total. A picture of the Ares V model can be seen at their website. [[1]]
