Jake Sisko, Atlanta Braves cap

Jake Sisko sporting Braves teamwear

The Atlanta Braves were a professional baseball team that existed during the 20th century on Earth, representing the city of Atlanta.

In 2364, the revived L.Q. "Sonny" Clemonds asked to see "how the Braves are doin' after all this time," after mistaking a viewscreen for a television, figuring that they were "probably still finding ways to lose." Unbeknownst to Clemonds, however, both television and baseball had died out in the mid 21st century. (TNG: "The Neutral Zone")

In the real world, the Braves had a run of successful seasons starting in 1991 (after the production of "The Neutral Zone") and won the World Series in 1995.

In early 2375, Jake Sisko wore an Atlanta Braves cap during the Niners team practices, in preparation for the holosuite baseball game against the Logicians. (DS9: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")

Real-life former Atlanta Brave Kenny Lofton is the uncle of Star Trek actor Cirroc Lofton, who played Jake Sisko.
In ENT: "Carbon Creek", which takes place in October 1957, T'Mir and Mestral listen to a baseball game on the radio. The only possible baseball game that month (after the end of the professional season) would have been a World Series matchup between the 1957 Braves (then based in Milwaukee) and the New York Yankees. However, most of the players named in the radio broadcast appear to be fictional, with the exception of one who may be the Braves' Bobby Thomson.
