Revision as of 08:25, 19 November 2009
Template:Realworld Audio commentaries are separate audio tracks on DVDs from the regular soundtrack. Often a director, writer, or actor will discuss details about the production, story, and so forth on a commentary. A single DVD can hold several commentaries (as many audio tracks as space allows), and they can be generally selected from a menu off of the main menu of the DVD. Often the discussion by the participants will be on top of the dialog and regular soundtrack, both of which have their volumes lowered for better comprehension of the commentary dialog.
Almost all of the Star Trek movies have audio commentaries in addition to their text commentaries, and several episodes from Star Trek: Enterprise feature them.
