For the ENT episode of the same name, please see "Azati Prime".

Azati Prime was the Xindi-inhabited prime planet in the Azati Prime system of the Alpha Quadrant. It had at least a single moon. (ENT: "Azati Prime")

The planet was mostly covered by water, with the few small landmasses not containing any life. The water was suited for Xindi-Aquatics to move in without protection. Degra described it as bleak and desolate, barely habitable. All of the Xindi facilities on Azati Prime were located underwater, including the construction yards for the Xindi weapon. (ENT: "Stratagem", "Azati Prime")

According to Degra, it was a diverse community with over a thousand Xindi-Arboreals and Xindi-Primates. Degra also claimed it contained an Insectoid deuterium facility. (ENT: "Stratagem")

Degra visited this planet shortly before traveling to the Calindra system to test a prototype of the Xindi weapon in December 2153. (ENT: "Stratagem")

In February of 2154, Enterprise reached the system after a long search for the Xindi weapon. Azati Prime was one of two inner planets detected to have substantial Xindi activity at this time, and the weapon launch was imminent.

The Xindi-Insectoid assault shuttle obtained by the crew located the weapon on Azati Prime. Once the Xindi realized the Humans knew where the weapon was, they relocated it to the Xindi Council planet. (ENT: "Azati Prime")

By 2259, multiple star charts showed the Azati Prime system as part of Federation territory. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds")

Background information[]

This planet's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".

Any information Degra gave about the planet might be considered suspect, given that he gave the information to Archer, which he later claimed to have distrusted to some extent from the beginning. Degra also implied it would naturally be one of the first planets the Insectoids might attack should they turn on the other species.

According to StarTrek.com, this was a class M planet with a colony population of 1,000 Xindi-Primates and Xindi-Arboreals. [1]

The Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 55) located this planet in the Azati system.
