Bajor sector map

A map of the Bajor sector showing the location of Klingon mines in 2372

The Bajor sector, also known as the Bajoran sector, was a region of space in the Alpha Quadrant. The sector contained the Bajoran system, the Federation space station Deep Space 9, and Starfleet's Antares Ship Yards.

History[]

In 2369, the Cardassians withdrew from this sector. (TNG: "Chain Of Command, Part I")

In 2375, while he was posing as Wendell Greer, Luther Sloan told Julian Bashir he had many questions about the sector, such as its navigational anomalies and transport patterns. (DS9: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges")

In the mirror universe, Terok Nor was the center of authority for the sector. (DS9: "Crossover")

In an alternate timeline, Starfleet had to leave Deep Space 9 and the Bajoran sector. The Klingon Empire then took over the control of the sector. (DS9: "The Visitor")

Background information[]

According to a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual stellar cartography map, the Bajor sector included the Badlands, Cardassia, Ferenginar, Starbase 375, and astronomical objects labeled as MX-774, PS-214, SN1987A, 7168-L, 631279, and 635483. The position of some of these objects was slightly changed for the expanded tactical situation monitor graphic seen in DS9: "When It Rains...". [1]

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts and the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual, the Bajoran system was located 5.25 light years away from the Cardassian system.

According to the website StarTrek.com, the Bajor sector adjoins the Archanis sector. [2]

Apocrypha[]

The RPG book Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Narrator's Toolkit, published in 1999, included a chart of the area and indicates that the Bajoran sector is a cubic area (width = 85 ly, length = 102 ly, depth = 90 ly) that contains over a dozen major star systems and many stellar points of interest:
