The Battle of Prexnak was the most important battle in Ferengi history. Ten Ferengi stood alone against two hundred and seventy-three Lytasians. The short lived battle was over when all ten Ferengi involved were slaughtered. It was the first and only time the Ferengi Alliance engaged in military action.

Quark mentioned the Battle of Prexnak to point out that Ferengi were just as tough as anybody in the galaxy, in regards to their mission of rescuing his mother, Ishka, from the Dominion in 2374. (DS9: "The Magnificent Ferengi")
