Bemonite was a mineral with an extremely fine consistency.

In 2375, the Delta Flyer crashed on a planetoid with a bemonite mantle after being damaged in an ion storm. The bemonite gave way, keeping the Flyer intact but burying it under fifty kilotons of debris. Rescue teams from the USS Voyager had to excavate the bemonite away before they could beam the Flyer aboard. (VOY: "Once Upon a Time")
