Berengaria VII was the seventh planet in the Berengaria system. This planet was an important world in the United Federation of Planets. (DS9: "In the Cards") The location of Berengaria VII was depicted on a Federation star chart in 2293. It was located near Gamma Canaris N, Janus VI, and Alfa 177. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)
History
In December 2154, prior to the founding of the Federation, Berengaria VII was to be scouted by the Starfleet ship Enterprise NX-01 as the site of one of a proposed chain of Earth starbases. T'Pol described the world as having a thriving ecosystem devoid of intelligent life. However, she mentioned that a Vulcan survey team had made note of a species of flying reptiles, over two hundred meters in length, that breathed fire. However, an incident with the Orions postponed or canceled this mission. (ENT: "Bound")
At some point prior to 2267, Spock encountered a dragon-like creature on the planet, confirming the original story. (TOS: "This Side of Paradise")
In 2373, Kai Winn Adami asked Captain Benjamin Sisko rhetorically whether the Federation would sacrifice Berengaria to protect Bajor from the Dominion. (DS9: "In the Cards")
