The location of Antares on the tactical situation monitor

Beta Antares IV was an inhabited planet. This planet was the homeworld for a native species. It was the fourth planet in the Beta Antares planetary system. Beta Antares was the secondary in the Antares system. This system was located in the Antares sector, which was a region of space in the Alpha Quadrant. The planet was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets.

Captain James T. Kirk stated this planet was the origin of fizzbin, a card game with absurdly complicated rules, which he invented while being trapped on Sigma Iotia II. Spock was familiar with the culture of Beta Antares IV and started to explain that there was no such game there, but was stopped short by Kirk. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")

The Beta Antares Ship Yards were located in the same system as this planet. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")

The tactical situation map depicted an area of space in the Alpha Quadrant. The locations Eminiar, Janus VI, Rigel, Andor, Babel, and Delta Vega were identified on "The Explored Galaxy" wall chart as being located in this quadrant.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I", "United Federation of Planets II"), Beta Antares IV was located in the Antares system. This planet was located in non-aligned space. In 2378, Beta Antares IV was a Federation member.
