Beta Tottoro IV was the inhabited fourth planet of the Beta Tottoro system. The inhabitants of this world had maintained kelp farms for decades. Sometime, in the past, the farmers had used saltzgadum, but this practice was discontinued due to cost. In 2366, when Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge was reseaching substances that could cause malfunctions aboard the USS Enterprise-D, saltzgadum was one of the five listed with this planet mentioned in the chemical compound's summary. (TNG: "Hollow Pursuits", okudagram)
