A 30 year veteran of television and feature films, Bibi (short for Bibiana) Besch got her television start in 1966 on the soap opera "The Secret Storm".
She received one supporting actress Emmy nomination for "Doing Time on Maple Drive" in 1992, and another in 1993 for a guest appearance on "Northern Exposure". In addition to her role in ST II: The Wrath of Khan, she had notable roles in "Who's That Girl" with Madonna(1987), "Steel Magnolias" with Sally Field (1989), and "Tremors" with Kevin Bacon(1990).
Sadly, Bibi succumbed to metastasized breast cancer on 7 September 1996, one day before Star Trek's 30th Anniversary.
