The Bilaren system was a planetary star system. This system was located in or near Federation space.
In 2369, Amanda Rogers' adoptive parents, marine biologists in Starfleet, were posted to the Bilaren system shortly before their daughter came aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "True Q")
A deleted scene from ENT: "Fight or Flight" mentioned a planet called "Belarn Prime" (or "Belaren Prime"). This was possibly meant as a reference to a planet in this system.
