Movie poster art reused as comic book art
Robert "Bob" M. Peak (30 May 1927 – 1 August 1992; age 65) was an award-winning movie poster artist. He produced movie posters for the first five Star Trek films.
He designed his first poster to promote West Side Story for United Artists in 1961, and that led to him working with designer Bill Gold on posters like My Fair Lady and Camelot. Other works he did included Apocalypse Now, Superman, Excalibur, and The Dark Crystal. He also provided a number of cover paintings for TIME Magazine and TV Guide and was selected as the artist for four 1984 Olympic commemorative stamps by the US Postal Service (the 13-cent postcard, and 28-cent, 35-cent, and 40-cent international airmail stamps).
In 2009, his artwork for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was used as a special cover release for the first issue of IDW Publishing's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan comic adaptation.
