Bolarus IX (also known as Bolarus, Bolius IX, or Bolias) was the inhabited ninth planet in the Bolarus system. This system was located in the Bolian sector of the Alpha Quadrant. This was a Federation member and homeworld of the Bolians, a warp capable humanoid species. (TNG: "Allegiance"; DS9: "The Forsaken"; VOY: "Unity", "In the Flesh")

During the 2360s, Bolarus IX shared an uneasy cease-fire with the Moropa. (TNG: "Allegiance")

Ezri Dax once remembered escorting a young drunk ensign Sisko home from a bar on Bolarus. (DS9: "Field of Fire")

Petty officer Zim Brott's wife, co-husband and two children lived on Bolarus while he was serving on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Field of Fire")

In an early draft of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Reckoning", it was Bolarus and the Bolian system, and not Benzar, that had been captured by the Dominion and liberated by the Romulan Star Empire. [1]
The Star Trek: Star Charts (page 56) and the chart "United Federation of Planets I", inadvertently had the Bolarus system in the Beta Quadrant. The Bolian system was a single star system. Its primary was a Class B star with a magnitude of +3, which was ten times brighter than Sol. Bolarus IX (Bole) was listed as a member planet of the Federation in 2378.
