Bolarus IX is a M-class planet and the homeworld of the Bolian race. It is also a member of the United Federation of Planets.

During the Dominion War, Bolarus was captured by Dominion forces. In late-2374, the Romulans forced the Dominion to retreat from the Bolian System. (DS9: "The Reckoning")

During the 2360s, Bolarus IX shared an uneasy cease-fire with the Moropa. (TNG: "Allegiance")
