For the ENT episode of the same name, please see "Bounty".

A bounty or reward was something of value offered as an incentive to complete a specific task, such as to locate and capture a criminal. A bounty was then payable upon delivery of the person to interested parties. One who went in search of individuals with a bounty on their heads was called a bounty hunter or a tracer. (TNG: "Lower Decks", VOY: "Think Tank", "Unforgettable")

In 2153, Skalaar captured Jonathan Archer, with an eye towards collecting the bounty the Klingons had placed on the captain so he could pay the impound fees on his freighter, the Tezra. Later, after deciding to release Archer instead, Skalaar warned him to be careful, as the Klingons would likely double the price now. Archer expressed his hopes that the Tellarite wouldn't be the one to collect the bounty, to which Skalaar replied, "No promises." (ENT: "Bounty")

In 2256, the baron Grimes offered a reward for locating Harry Mudd. Mudd had ran out on the baron's daughter Stella and the dowry Grimes had given him. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

The Hazari were a species who often worked for bounties. (VOY: "Think Tank")
