Template:Realworld Template:2008spoiler Brian Sipe is an Emmy Award-winning makeup and makeup effects artist who worked as an effects technician with Steve Johnson's XFX Group on Star Trek Nemesis. He more recently worked with Harlow FX on 2009's Star Trek, applying prosthetic make-ups designed by Joel Harlow and Neville Page.

Sipe has been working as a professional make-up artist in film and television since 1989. He is the owner of Gamut Studios, a company which provides services in make-up effects, character design, custom fabrication, and project management. In 2006 he won an Emmy Award as makeup department head on the television series Black. White.

In addition to Star Trek Nemesis, Sipe's film work with XFX also includes Suburban Commando (1991, starring Christopher Lloyd), Necronomicon (1993, starring Jeffrey Combs), Lord of Illusions (1995, starring Scott Bakula), and Eraser (1996, starring Vanessa Williams). Sipe's other early make-up projects include work on such films as Addams Family Values (1993), Speed (1994), Tank Girl (1995) and In the Mouth of Madness (1995) and television series like seaQuest DSV.

Sipes has more recently had a long association with Keith VanderLaan's Captive Audience Productions, working as special make-up supervisor on the majority of their film and television projects since 1999. His film work with Captive Audience includes Bicentennial Man (1999), Big Momma's House (2000), Ali (2001, featuring LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Brad Greenquist, Albert Hall, Bruce McGill, and Wade Williams), A Beautiful Mind (2001, featuring Christopher Plummer), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003, featuring Lee Arenberg), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), The Passion of the Christ (2004), Van Helsing (2004), White Chicks (2004), The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), and Apocalypto (2006).

Outside of his work with Captive Audience, Sipe was the special make-up supervisor on the 2005 film Syriana, which starred Alexander Siddig, Christopher Plummer, David Clennon, and Robert Foxworth. Other recent film projects include Babel and Ocean's Thirteen. He more recently supervised special effects make-up on the Paramount Pictures film, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (2008), the upcoming horror/fantasy adventure Cirque de Freak (2009), and the upcoming science fiction sequel Terminator: Salvation (2009).
