Brooks Bonstin (born 20 April 1974; age 49) is a location manager who appeared as a background actor, a Dinaali miner, in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "Critical Care". As a background actor, he received no credit for his appearance. More recently, he was an Assistant Location Manager on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek. Bonstin found the rock quarry that was used for the Iowa quarry in the movie, which was shot at Rock of Ages in Graniteville, Vermont.

Bonstin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology, with a minor in Film Theory, from the University of California in Berkeley in 1996. In 2002, he graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles' Professional Program in Producing.

He began his career as the location manager on the comedy film Seeing Other People in March of 2003. In July that same year, he started working on three hit television series: The Bernie Mac Show, Malcolm in the Middle, and UPN's Girlfriends, which starred Golden Brooks. For The Bernie Mac Show, he was an assistant location manager until April 2004, working on a total of 12 episodes. On Malcolm in the Middle, he was a key assistant location manager for 66 episodes, departing that series when it ended its run in 2006. He was also a key assistant location manager on Girlfriends, working on 16 episodes between July 2003 and March 2007.

Star Trek was Bonstin's third film project working with fellow location scout and assistant location manager, Scott Trimble. They first worked together on the hit 2007 film Transformers, for which they won a California on Location Award (COLA) for Best Production Company/Location Team of the Year – Features, along with Kathy McCurdy and Golden Rob Swenson. Like Star Trek, Transformers was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Bonstin and Trimble later reteamed for the comedy Spring Breakdown. On both of these films, Bonstin and Trimble worked alongside Michelle Latham, who managed locations for Star Trek's teaser trailer. Bonstin also worked with Latham on the television series State of Mind.

Bonstin's other projects include the 2005 film Me and You and Everyone we Know (which, like Star Trek, featured Brad William Henke as well as Ellen Geer), the 2008 film Surfer, Dude (featuring Jeffrey Nordling and Todd Stashwick), and eight episodes of the CBS Paramount Television series The Game. More recently, he was the location manager for a pilot called The Oaks, which features John Cothran, Jr., and Alexandra Lydon.
