Canasta was a card game in which players had to get a set of similar cards of three or more and try to get rid of them to win.

After Quark tired of playing Go Fish with Vic Fontaine in late 2375, the hologram suggested playing canasta (as well as rummy, gin rummy and five-card stud). However, Quark did not want to play any of them, as he was worried about Nog and Deep Space 9's other "heroic idiots." (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")
