Cardassian freighters were types of freighters of various designs, utilized by the Cardassian Union during the 24th century. Among these designs were the Bok'Nor type, Cardassian supply ship, and Cardassian military freighter.
In 2367, Kriosian rebels attacked a neutral Cardassian freighter near the Ikalian asteroid belt along the Klingon-Federation border. (TNG: "The Mind's Eye")
Three varied types of Cardassian freighters were in service during the Klingon-Cardassian War in 2373. After an outbreak of Rudellian plague on Pentath III, the Cardassians prepared seven convoys of these vessels to transport medical supplies and relief workers over a period of a week. However, since the Cardassians didn't have the warships available to protect the relief convoy, they asked for Starfleet protection. The USS Defiant was assigned to escort convoy number six. On stardate 49648, the Defiant was engaged by a group of Klingon raiders that were attacking the freighters, an engagement which eventually set the stage for the inadvertent destruction of a Klingon civilian transport. Bajorans used to overload Cardassian freighter shields by taking a vessel close to the freighter, overloading their shield generators with directed Phaser fire. (DS9: "The Passenger")
- Two of these freighters were reused Bajoran ship models, the Antares-class carrier and Bajoran transport, the third was a reuse of the Cardassian military freighter, and would later represent a Cardassian transport.
