Carassian script

Their written language consists of very angular, blocky letters, written in both horizontal and vertical lines. The characters can be separated by one or two dots (either word dividers, punctuation or vowel indication). Paragraph structure resembles a crossword puzzle, with text originating from a circle vertically and the further sentences radiating outward.

We know that odo'ital either means "nothing," or is Bajoran for "unknown liquid" (sources are conflicting on this matter.) We learn that this is what Odo was called at the Bajoran Institute of Science while he was being studied.

The word yamok (sauce) would also seem to be Cardassian; perhaps it's some sort of vegetable. Also, Nor would seem to mean something similar to "station," as two Cardassian space stations, Terok Nor and Empok Nor, have this word in their names in the same position. Gul is the rank given to Cardassians in command of a starship; it seems roughly analagous to Federation rank of Captain. Glinn is a rank that seems to be directly below Gul. Also, what seems to be a governmental title, Legate, has been referred to - Legate Ghemor, and Legate Dukat (previously Gul Dukat). Finally, the Detapa Council is the highest civilian government body, although we are never given a clue as to what the word Detapa means, however it could mean civilian.
