Cardassian transport (2373)
The USS Defiant tows a Cardassian transport.
Cardassian transports were starships utilized by the Cardassians for the transport of passengers during the 24th century.
In 2370, Garak had arranged for the release of six Bajoran prisoners in exchange for Cardassian fugitives Natima Lang, Hogue and Rekelen. Althought the prisoners were to be delivered to Deep Space 9 aboard a Cardassian transport, the deal fell through when the three Cardassians escaped the station aboard the Cardassian shuttle, after being equipped with a cloaking device. In 2373, a Maquis raider commanded by Michael Eddington fired on a Cardassian transport that was evacuating the Cardassians from Quatal Prime. The Maquis disabled the transport, causing it to lose power and slowly spiral down into the planets atmosphere.
The ship was rescued by the USS Defiant, which towed the transport ship out of the planet's gravitational pull. After sending a repair team to the transport, the ship was able to limp back to Cardassia. (DS9: "For the Uniform")
