Carl Byrd (born 10 August 1935; age 88) is the actor who played Lieutenant Shea in the original series episode "By Any Other Name". He filmed his scenes on Friday 10 November 1967 and Monday 13 November 1967 at Desilu Stage 10.

He also appeared with fellow TOS guest star Christopher Held in episodes of Mission: Impossible (also with Joseph Bernard), Taxi, The Jeffersons, and St. Elsewhere (with Ed Begley, Jr., Ellen Bry, and Norman Lloyd).
