Carlos, from South America, was an acquaintance of Dixon Hill and the alias portrayed by Lieutenant Commander Data during his visits to this holonovel series. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye", "Manhunt")

The name Carlos only appeared in "Manhunt". In "The Big Goodbye" Data just explained himself as being from South America.
