Dr. Carter in 2268.
Doctor Carter was the chief medical officer aboard the USS Exeter, under the command of Captain Ronald Tracey. In 2268, Carter made the last log entry recorded prior to the death of the Exeter crew following the their exposure to a bacteriological agent, native to Omega IV, that was brought aboard by the unimmunized landing party. (TOS: "The Omega Glory")
Carter died in the command chair, his uniform was found draped on the floor beside it. His body had been reduced to dehydrated crystals by the infection when his uniform was discovered by Captain James Kirk and the Enterprise party.
Dr. Carter was in sickbay during the time of the infection that was spreading aboard the Exeter, and was curing crewmembers, but they died, among those was the Chief Engineer.
Carter went to the bridge later on and did a final log entry before his and the Exeter crew's death.
