The Chaffee was a Type-10 Federation shuttlecraft assigned to the USS Defiant.
In late 2374, Benjamin Sisko, Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir used the Chaffee to enter the atmosphere of a Class L planet to rescue Lisa Cusak. (DS9: "The Sound of Her Voice")
- Most likely named for astronaut Roger Chaffee, who died, along with Gus Grissom and Edward White, aboard Apollo 1.
- It was not revealed whether or not this craft survived the destruction of the Defiant in 2375.
