Corporal Chang was a MACO soldier assigned to the Enterprise NX-01 during its mission in the Delphic Expanse in 2153.
Enterprise
Six weeks into Enterprise's mission, Chang participated in the rescue of Captain Archer, Commander Tucker, and the Xindi Kessick from a trellium mining colony. Soon afterward, Chang accompanied Tucker and Private Palmer on an away mission to the Loque'eque homeworld to rescue Captain Archer, Lieutenant Reed, and Ensign Sato, who had transformed into Loque'eque themselves as a result of exposure to a mutagenic virus. The next year, along with Corporal Ryan, Chang was assigned to guard a Xindi-Insectoid hatchery by Captain Archer, whose synaptic pathways had been infiltrated by a unique neurochemical. Later, he stood guard outside of the quarters of T'Pol, who had been confined there by Archer. In the novel "Last Full Measure", Chang is roommates with Travis Mayweather and his first name is Hideaki, hinting a Sino-Japanese heritage. The Star Trek Customizable Card Game gives his name as Hideaki Chang.
