Chateau Picard was an estate red wine produced at the Picard vineyards in La Barre, France. The head vigneron or winegrower during the mid-24th Century was Robert Picard.
When Jean-Luc Picard returned to Earth to meet his family, he sampled a glass of Chateau Picard 2347 and mistook it for a 2346 vintage. (TNG: "Family")
Jean-Luc Picard reserved a few bottles of this wine on the Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E for special occasions. Picard poured two glasses of this wine and offered a toast to Chancellor Durken after initiating first contact with the Malcorians. (TNG: "First Contact")
Picard also shared a quiet drink of Chateau Picard 2367 with Lieutenant Commander Data after Captain Riker's wedding. The senior officers (minus Lieutenant Commander Data) of the Enterprise-E also shared an emotional drink together after Data's death by sacrificing himself to save the Enterprise and his friends. (Star Trek: Nemesis)
- By coincidence or not, Chateau Picard is a real wine label - although it is made in Saint Estèphe.
