A chewstick was a Ferengi implement similar to a tooth sharpener. It was used to help maintain their teeth.
Quark had a wooden chewstick when he was young, whereas his brother Rom had a tooth sharpener made out of latinum. Quark blamed this on not being Ishka's favorite son. (DS9: "Family Business", "Little Green Men")
