Chirurgeon (pronounced: ky-RUR-jun) was a medical profession.
Ghee P'Trell was a prominent chirurgeon on Andoria. (DS9: "Prophet Motive")
Chirurgeon is in reality an antiquated term for surgeon, though the fact that doctor Bashir chose to use this peculiar term instead of "surgeon" might indicate that the terms are not completely equivalent in the Star Trek universe, or that the title holds distinct significance on Andoria.
