A Christmas tree is typically any conifer tree that is decorated with lights and ornaments during Christmas time.
The crew of USS Voyager found themselves tethered to some knd of large plant, later revealed to be a Christmas tree, after Q reduced the ship to the size of a Christmas ornament, as he attempted to escape from Q. (VOY: "Death Wish")
- Soon after, a USS Voyager Christmas tree ornament was produced by Hallmark. The television advertisement promoting it featured a clipshow of the primary characters from VOY Season 1 and VOY Season 2, arranged in a manner to suggest that they were actually promoting the ornament.
After the first engagement with the USS Reliant, and prior to the battle of the Mutara Nebula, the hasty repairs made by Scotty to the energizers aboard the USS Enterprise were descibed as being "bypassed like a Christmas tree." (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)
While attempting to decipher cybernetic circuits implanted into Enterprise's systems, Charles Tucker suddenly witnessed them active and described is as having "just lit up like a Christmas tree." (ENT: "Regeneration")
