Chuck Hicks (26 December 19274 May 2021; age 93) was a stuntman, stunt actor, and stunt coordinator, who performed stunts in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and as the Military Officer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "Encounter at Farpoint".

Career[]

Hicks was born in Stockton, California and was a professional boxer and football player in the early 1950s, prior to his career in the film and television business. One of his first film credits was a role in 1955's Rebel Without a Cause, which also featured Corey Allen who directed Hicks in "Encounter at Farpoint", Ian Wolfe, a musical score by Leonard Rosenman and cinematography by Ernest Haller. He worked with Wolfe again later in Dick Tracy (1990), with Colm Meaney, John Schuck, Seymour Cassel, Paul Sorvino, Hamilton Camp, Mike Hagerty, Robert Costanzo, Ed McCready, Bert Remsen, Walker Edmiston and Michael J. Pollard.

Hicks retired from stunt business in 2010 and Legion (2010) and The Back-up Plan (2010) became his last credited stunt work. On 27 December 2014, Hicks married longtime companion and fellow stuntwoman Kaye Wade.
