Class-3 humanoids were referred to in season 1, episode 4 ("Phage") of Star Trek: Voyager. Nelix had been attacked on the surface of an M-class planet, where the crew had discovered a possible source of dilithium crystals. After returning the ship, Lt. Kim analyzed the data stored in the tricorder that was being used by Nelix and mentioned that there had been a class-3 humanoid in Nelix's vicinity prior to the attack.
