Claude Monet was a French artist painting in the 19th century and 20th century.

In 2368 Berlinghoff Rasmussen mentioned Monet to Geordi La Forge as a historical figure who was blind. (TNG: "A Matter of Time")

Claude Monet started to gradually go blind from cataracts in his late 60s, though he continued to paint new works - he was nearly blind, but not entirely.
