A compressed tetryon beam is a type of tetryon-based directed energy weapon. The Lenarians used a compressed tetryon beam to attack Captain Jean-Luc Picard in 2369 during a conference. The weapon fused the bio-regulators in his artificial heart, threatening his life. (TNG: "Tapestry")
In the same year, Neela used a compressed tetryon beam weapon in her attempt to assassinate Vedek Bareil Antos aboard Deep Space 9, because such weapons are not normally scanned for by the station's security sensors. (DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets")
