Compton was a crewman aboard the USS Enterprise serving under Captain James T. Kirk in 2268. Compton was the first to experience the effects of Scalosian water. He was convinced to help the Scalosians by one of their females. He died from a small wound that would have been non-fatal had he not been under the hyper-speed effects. (TOS:"Wink of an Eye")
